We came down at a busy time according to the written guidance in our rooms so obviously there were frequent shortages of basics like cutlery, glasses etc. As we weren't in a rush this was ok, just part of the adventure, and the staff were charming and doing their utmost. Suggestion: put a notice by the pots of porridge to say to ask a staff member to add the boiling water as the hot water in the drinks machine isn't hot enough, I took to popping up to my room to boil a kettle which worked fine. The fried breakfasts looked great. Suggestion: with the yogurts, maybe staff could take some off each set of different ones? All the natural ones were out at once then there weren't any for the rest of the week. Great location, lovely walks down to prom and along next door parklands. Really nice room. Great staff. Very reassuring comfortable bit old-fashioned atmosphere (nothing wrong with that, it's retro.) Really good to hear plans to reintroduce the specialist activity holidays for visually impaired guests.) An education having so many of this community staying and guide dogs everywhere. Really relaxing only having room cleaned on request... but see below

Set in beautiful Gardens, with what we can only describe a 7 acre private park. The building is most impressive inside. Obliviously built to impress visitors. The stairs & balcony could well be used in TV etc. The room was OK. The previous occupant had left some items in the wardrobe, which the staff removed immediately when informed. Bed was comfortable. Shower room clean & in good condition. We asked for a ground floor room as l am disabled. Sadly there was no view, also, it was hot at the time & could not leave windows open. But we had the use of an electric fan. We only had breakfast each day, which was fine with a good choice. Other meals are available at extra cost. Once again, the conservatory attached to dining room was really rewarding, with clifftop sea views, & the Garden. Easy to get to Teignmouth & sea front etc on foot. Beware, the parking is hard to find & expensive throughout the Torbay area. Unfortunately it can be difficult to park at the hotel at certain times as well. Forgot to mention the good bar.

Nice hotel. We will definitely stay there again. The location was wonderful, with sea views from some of the rooms and the dining room. It is set in 7.5 acres of beautiful grounds, which lead down to the seafront, and you can walk into Teignmouth. The buffet breakfast was very good. Our room was light and very clean. Housekeeping in the rooms is not automatic, but you can request a clean at any time, and reception have any extras that you might need during your stay. There is also a lift which is great for getting cases up and down. The bus stops right outside the hotel, which is very useful for getting into Dawlish, should you wish to leave your car behind.

Breakfast was good, cereals, yogurts, cooked breakfast etc. Evening meal would have been much better if there had been more staff in the kitchen, as the meals were taking ages. The location ( although on a hill) was excellent, near the beach with stunning views and a lovely garden. There is a bus stop (no. 2) outside the hotel for those people like myself who may find the walk back up the hill too much.

Friendly, helpful staff, great location, beautiful gardens to roam in, down (almost) to seafront, & terrace for less mobile guests. Spacious CLEAN, EN SUITE room, & view... On "campus" Parking, (for which I'd happily pay £5/nt.) Bus stops just outside entrance... Food: tasty, well prepared/served, & novel options (eg: sweet-chilli cauliflower, starter)
